What a RADAR key is
Many accessible toilets in the UK are kept locked and open only with a RADAR key, also called a National Key Scheme key. One key opens more than 10,000 of them, around the clock. We mark every toilet that needs one, and you can exclude them entirely if you do not carry a key.
Keys are sold by Disability Rights UK and by many local councils. If you have a condition that means you sometimes cannot wait, a Can't Wait card from Crohn's & Colitis UK or a Just Can't Wait card from the Bladder & Bowel Community can help you ask to use a toilet in a shop or café without explaining yourself.

Before you rely on it
This data is crowd-sourced and contributed by the public. Opening hours are recorded for fewer than half of these toilets, and only about one in six has ever been verified by a contributor. Where hours are unknown we say so rather than guessing, and we would always suggest having a second option in mind.
